Now that Maxx Crosby isn’t going to be a member of the Baltimore Ravens after they shockingly backed out of their trade with the Las Vegas Raiders, the question is: where will he play in 2026?

Are the Raiders really just going to keep him? That scenario feels doubtful. They’ve clearly demonstrated interest in moving on. And Crosby has expressed interest in wanting out.

So, what now?

Do the Philadelphia Eagles get involved?

It makes sense from a logical perspective. The Birds reportedly had interest in keeping Jaelan Phillips before he ultimately signed a four-year, $120 million contract with the Carolina Panthers. They were also said to have made an offer to Trey Hendrickson before he signed with the aforementioned Ravens.

The Eagles clearly feel like they need more pass rushing help.

Crosby could be the solution.

And there’s some buzz that a deal might be in the works.

The following comes from Seattle Seahawks podcaster Dan Viens (who does a show with my good friend Rob “Stats” Guerrera, who vouches for Dan):

It’s not hard to envision Howie Roseman swooping in and getting Crosby at a cheaper price than the Ravens paid. The Raiders aren’t getting two first-round picks now that it’s clear they’re willing to deal Crosby and there are some questions about his medical situation following his failed physical. Not to mention the fact that Crosby’s market has shrunk with some teams already filling out their need for an edge rusher.

That being said, the Raiders still have a very good player that teams want to acquire. So, it’s not like his price tag is dropping to a Day 3 pick. And if it does, the Raiders could just keep him at that point.

I could see the Eagles being willing to include a first-round pick if they feel confident they’re getting one back in return for A.J. Brown at some point. Maybe a first-round pick and a second-round pick gets it done now? Two second-round picks with one conditionally elevating into a first?

A noteworthy factor that the Eagles have going for them is they have multiple ties to the Raiders’ front office. Las Vegas general manager John Spytek worked in Philly from 2005-2009. Raiders vice president of player personnel Brandon Hunt worked in Philly from 2022-2024. Raiders senior personnel executive Anthony Patch worked in Philly from 2002-2024. The Raiders’ ability to trust Roseman and the Eagles could be especially important after just being burned by the Ravens.

At the very least, Roseman should (and likely will) be gauging the price on a Crosby trade now.

Should the Eagles do what it takes to get it done?
