The Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills both announced some roster news ahead of the Week 17 game at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York. Here’s an overview:

Let’s sort through this news on a player-by-player basis.

BRANDON JOHNSON

The Eagles are temporarily elevating Johnson to the roster for the second week in a row. In Week 16, Johnson saw five defensive snaps in garbage time while also logging four special teams snaps. Johnson, an undrafted rookie, will be active as a depth option ahead of 2025 fifth-round pick Mac McWilliams again.

KELEKI LATU

Latu being signed to the roster feels notable since Bills tight ends Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox were ruled questionable to play. Seems like Buffalo is preparing for the possibility of at least one of those guys not being able to suit up. We’ll find out more for sure when Eagles-Bills inactives are announced at 2:55 PM Eastern on Sunday.

Side note: the Eagles had until 4:00 PM Eastern on Saturday to active Cameron Williams from injured reserve if they wanted him to be available for Week 17. Unsurprisingly, they did not activate the rookie offensive lineman. But his practice window to return from injured reserve remains open for now.
