In a corresponding move, the Birds released the practice squad defensive tackle they signed on Wednesday.

The Philadelphia Eagles officially announced two practice squad moves on Thursday morning. Here’s an overview:

The Eagles waived Hall on Tuesday to make room for trade acquisition Tank Bigsby on the active roster. It was surprising to see that Hall got the axe when the Eagles are keeping seven edge rushers on the team. But, hey, the Birds didn’t lose Hall to waivers.

In order to make room for Hall on the practice squad, the Eagles cut Sykes after only signing him to the PS one day earlier. So, they really just wanted Sykes around to be able to have for Wednesday’s practice while they were waiting for Hall to become available again.
