The Philadelphia Eagles entered their Thursday Night Football matchup as 7.5-point road favorites against the New York Giants.

This was supposed to be a get-right game for the Birds against a team that’s been one of the very worst in the NFL for years now.

A team that the Eagles have especially owned for a long time.

Instead, the Eagles got bullied and blown out.

Final score: 34 to 17.

A truly pathetic loss.

One of the very worst of the Nick Sirianni era.

The Eagles didn’t look ready to play from the jump, going down 13 to 3. To their credit, they did fight back to go up 17 to 13.

But Vic Fangio’s defense continued to struggle and the offense went extremely cold once again, just like it has for prolonged stretches throughout this season.

The defense was undoubtedly hurt by Jalen Carter not playing in this game and Quinyon Mitchell getting hurt. Still, it was alarming to see Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo absolutely have their way with that unit.

The offense is just a broken unit. Jalen Hurts played a really bad game. He was involved in two different 14-point swings, including one where he threw a red zone interception. The offensive line continues to struggle. The play-calling isn’t very inspired. The Eagles can’t run the ball.

Special teams sucked. The Eagles can’t properly field a kickoff return to save their lives.

Sirianni preaches “Tough. Detailed. Together.”

Which of those aspects are the 2025 Eagles living up to?

The 4-2 Eagles have some real reflecting to do during the mini-bye before traveling to play the Minnesota Vikings in Week 7.
