The Philadelphia Eagles officially announced two roster moves ahead of their Week 18 game against the Washington Commanders. Here’s an overview:
- DB Brandon Johnson and LS Charley Hughlett were temporarily elevated from the practice squad.
Note: teams can temporarily promote practice squad players up to three times each in the regular season and an unlimited number of times in the postseason.
Let’s sort through this news on a player-by-player basis.
BRANDON JOHNSON
Johnson was elevated for each of the Eagles’ last two games. He could see snaps nickel cornerback in addition to playing on special teams.
CHARLEY HUGHLETT
The Eagles waived Hughlett from their roster earlier this week and brought him back on the practice squad. This maneuver allowed the team to open up a roster spot that they filled by activating rookie offensive tackle Cameron Williams from injured reserve. The Eagles obviously need a long snapper for Sunday, so, temporarily elevating Hughlett was expected.
