With the new league year approaching, the NFL officially announced compensatory picks in the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Philadelphia Eagles were awarded the following four selections:
- Round 3: No. 98
- Round 4: No. 137
- Round 5: No. 178
- Round 6: No. 215
The Eagles earned these picks through their free agency losses last offseason. Milton Williams signing with the New England Patriots got them a third-rounder, Josh Sweat signing with the Arizona Cardinals got them a fourth-rounder, Mekhi Becton signing with the Los Angeles Chargers got them a fifth-rounder, and Isaiah Rodgers signing with the Minnesota Vikings got them a sixth-rounder.
The Eagles being awarded that sixth-round pick comes as a surprise because previous projections indicated that Philly’s signing of Azeez Ojulari wiped out the Rodgers comp pick. A pleasant surprise to see that line of thinking was mistaken!
With the addition of these selections, the Eagles now officially own nine picks in this year’s NFL Draft:
1st — own pick
2nd — own pick
3rd — from New York Jets
3rd — compensatory pick
4th — own pick
4th — compensatory pick
5th — from Atlanta Falcons
5th — compensatory pick
6th — compensatory pick
It’s possible the Eagles will add to this collection if/when they trade A.J. Brown … and/or other players. The Eagles could also use this ammo to make some trades in the near future.
It should also be noted that the Eagles are currently in line to receive two compensatory picks in the 2027 NFL Draft for their 2026 free agency losses thus far. That equation might change, of course, but as of right now they’re projected to get a third-round pick for losing Jaelan Phillips and a sixth-round pick for losing Jahan Dotson.
